i tried 'blogging'
I am unable to get my PIN from the Department of Education's student loan website because I cannot replicate the answer to the question "What is my favorite pastime?" I have no idea when I gave the DOE an answer to that question. For that matter, I have no idea why I would have selected this as my challenge question--I looked, and "what's your mother's maiden name" is available, but I went with "What is your favorite pastime?"--and I have no idea what I would have entered.
Any ideas? I'm stumped.
Plus, the word "pastime" always looks to me like it's misspelled somehow. Then again, so does "misspelled."

When did you get this pin #? In your pre- or post- jogging/running days? Think, man, think. That's it, the response has something to do with a completely cerebral activity.
Dithering?
Try, "Writing songs about STATA."
As in, "Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling STATA-nine..."
Ann: Dithering may well be my favorite pastime.
Drek: Stata is not an acronym! That said, I know someone whose family has this intriguing low-key mournful-mix of "Clementine" that they all sing together on New Years' Eve.
Baseball. It's America's pasttime, and you're for America, AREN'T YOU?!?!?!
(Sorry. Ken Burns documentary + current political climate = shoddy commenting. That said, Go Dodgers!)
Showing sheep?
Go Giants! (sorry Brady, couldn't help myself)
Myself?
scrabble? screwing with peoples' heads? insomnia? googling? drinking soda? wandering the halls? anything but teaching?
Drek: Stata is not an acronym!
Fair enough, but if I thought it was I'd have included the annoying periods. It's about even odds that, when I see someone referring to stata, they put it in all caps. So, I flipped a coin and took my chances.
did you try your mother's maiden name? maybe you picked the wrong question from the drop down menu, but gave the right answer...
Drek: Yes, but what I'm trying to tell you is, all those people who are spelling Stata in all caps are wrong. Same with people who spell TOBIT models like it is some kind of acronym.
Dorotha: I tried 'Scrabble' and 'Screwing with people's heads', and neither worked.
Brady/Crab: Baseball is no longer America's pastime. It's a combination of 'litigation' and 'running freaky high budget deficits', neither of which worked.
You have burst my bubble of hope for the country. I still believed baseball could save us!
Err ... uhm ... obsessing? eating? singing? And speaking of singing ... the lost Teddy Love karaoke tape has resurfaced and rumor has it it includes classic shots of Earl dying ... just so you know :)
OK, just to clarify ... what I meant was it includes a song about Earl and someone singing said song and simulating Earl's death ... OK, still sounds creepy ... I just never win with this blogging thing.
