what to do? sociology karaoke and a blogger dinner are both on for tonight!

Update, 6pm: Hell hath no fury like three lawyers scorned. One has already drafted an ad searching for my Blogger Dinner replacement.

Update, late: I did both, starting with the bloggers at Griglia Tuscany and ending up at the Karaoke Kid.

can you do both? what time is the blogger dinner?

also, where will more evil likely be concentrated? i suspect that it will be at the blogger dinner. perhaps you might want to avoid the dark side of the force.

Dorotha hath treated me most terse
she hath rejected my lovely, longing verse
singeth ye tonight with other than this lass
or verily thou shalt gaineth naught but sass - LDM

what about being a uniter instead of a divider? What about reconciling the disparate worlds of karaoke and blogging? There are 2 americas, jeremy, and what are you doing about it?

LDM! how can you say that i rejected you? you were just last week singing songs of love for nina. i thought you had moved on. come to karaoke tonight. i will sing with you. i may be sassy, but i can also be sweet. ask around.

For Nina Sugarplum I doth weep and pine
Thou wouldst lure me with sweet red wine!
I knowest thou wouldst but ravage my heart
and discardeth me as some stale cherry tart!
Thy feet with donuts I shall not adorne
whilst Nina's love keepeth me forlorn - LDM

LDM, i just don't get it. why do you think i would crush you? can't you give me a chance? i'm not as cruel as you seem to think i am. just because i don't like donuts does not mean that i wouldn't like the one who gave them to me.

Pleadeth with me not
Though thine heart be distraught
If Nina departeth I shall fadeth away
Cupid's arrow doth not stray!
Wouldst thou have me as thy sugar slave
to chaineth me in passion like a knave?
What offerance and nature of dalliance hast thou
that with Nina dearest I should breaketh my vow? - LDM

claire - don't worry! we go about once a month. i'm sure we can squeeze one in while you are in town.

LDM - fine. love nina and not me. but i am sadder and entirely pathetic. your rejection hurts me more than it would nina.

When T. wrote me this week-end that there would be karaoke on Wednesday I was crushed! I had been fantasizing about stepping out with a big declaration of love and affection, thinking of songs for the occasion (passionate ones!) and then wham! You guys picked Wednesday to sing! (Honey, you don’t read Jeremy’s blog, do you?) I have been sitting in my forlorn corner, shedding tears for the night that was to be and now is no more (for I am loyal to anyone that plans on eating with me and the blogger donnas did nab the date first). P.S. Y'all could start late and end even later...

oh, nina! don't take it personally. negotiating the date of karaoke events is such a complicated matter. i had to weigh a lot of considerations in selecting the date. i'm sorry that it disrupts the scheduled blogger dinner, i truly am.

i do read jeremy's blog, but i don't have his schedule memorized. i always figure he is passing around the RV muttering to himself.

Aurevoir..Or Doth Hope Float???

Nina my plum giveth not such harsh rebuff
knowest thou my bedside manner be not gruff.
Thine countenance shinest ever so bright
I beseecheth thee unto me grant reprieve of fright!
Flee me not exquisite, exotic, lucious lass!
Dost the thought of my pastry truly give thee gas?
Oh dread! some handsome, polished, Polish prince thou art surely to meet
spareth me pain, alloweth me to grovel at thy dainty feet.
Hearken Eros! Hearken Cupid! Heal this most heart rending riff
for Nina'a affection gladly would I leap from high upon a cliff. - LDM

Lewdest performance ever given by a fully-clothed individual: Jeremy Freese, "I Touch Myself."
The groans at the end really, uh, added, uh, something. In some ways I think that should be recorded, and in other ways I NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT AGAIN!!!

The was Evil Glitter Princess's first time at karaoke, and already she is using superlatives. Besides which, I wasn't the one who signed up for the Divinyls. Besides besides which, the only thing resembling "groaning" in the song is not at the end, but at the conclusion of the spoken word section in the middle.

It was EGP's first time at Soc Karaoke with JF there, and anyway, EGP ALWAYS uses superlatives. Besides which, what does the identity of the song-chooser have to do with JF's antics? There were plenty of far lewder songs sung that did not get EGP's nomination for "Lewdest Performance," which means that they weren't as well done, now doesn't it? Besides besides which, EGP doesn't care which part of the song JF found most lewd. She is SCARRED! SCARRED into talking in the third person even! And JF can pay for therapy for any lasting damages. :-D

And speaking of lewd, I for one find that doughnut man to be repulsive. His leering and baiting of women goes unchecked in your forum. Why isn't he banished? He is probably a peeping tom, lurking in the bushes by sorority houses. - Helpful in New Hampshire
