free bacon?

From an ad for one of Madison's undergraduate-oriented bars:

Free bacon? Do they mean, like, actual bacon? Or is "bacon" some slang term I don't know for some pork whiskey-based drink?

Perhaps they're referring to Sporkle. I hear it's quite a hit with the wine cooler demographic.

long story short, i got my wisdom teeth removed and now i have "dry socket", which is a misnomer. my sockets, i guess, are not actually dry. the mostly unexplained problem kind of hurts though. to combat this, i have been going to the dental surgeons' office for a few days to have a piece of gauze soaked in clove oil shoved into the dark recesses of my mouth. anyway, my mouth often tastes strongly of clove. HREF="http://www.blogger.com/r?careyoke.blogspot.com">careyoke has been trying to get me to eat pork all week. she thinks the flavors would go well together. perhaps i should visit this bar for a free test...

ugh! my post didn't work! blogging while tipsy is such a bad idea! jeremy, can you erase the previous post? edit it so that the link works?

D.: this link to careyoke's blog should work, or people can just click on the link on my sidebar.

I want to go there now to see if there is actual bacon. If there is, I want to steal a piece and scan it for my blog.

there really hasn't been enough pork in your blog. do it! unless it is canadian bacon.

Not that I've been to said bar, but my understanding is that there is free actual bacon.

I'm organizing a bacon-reconnaisance expedition. Let me know if you are interested.

omg that is hilarious. dorotha told me about this at dinner last night and it was just too weird. i was sure bacon meant some form of beverage. you don't think it's slang for natty light? (although that, now that i think about it, makes absolutely no kind of sense).

careyoke totally wants to come to! and since she eats meat, she can have all of our bacon!

so what's the scoop-- was there, in fact, actual bacon? did you eat any? did anyone eat any? were people there, just in line, gobbling up bacon? was it out on plates? was it sanitary? is it a beverage? is it a nickname for a beverage?

A post on this matter is forthcoming, I can assure you.

steph is getting really impatient for a post, jeremy. she made me stop in the middle of dinner to show her the pictures. will you post already? people are starting to knock down my door to find out if the legend of the bacon is true.
