once more, the eye of suspicion has falsely fallen upon me

Regular JFW readers: Remember when there were people who thought that I was Lonely Donut Man, leaving dozens of poems as comments on my own blog over a period of months? Remember me assuring everyone that I wasn't, and yet there still being people who didn't believe me? Remember when Lonely Donut Man turned out to be Goesh/an otherwise-unknown-to-me civil servant in Kentucky?

A similar situation has arisen over the identity of the mysterious "kep", who has been guest-posting on NinaNet while she has gone on quasi-hiatus. Some people think I am kep, and one even assembled an extensive list of clues that could be read as suggesting that I am kep. Confession: I'm not. Really. Nor do I know who kep is. I have my suspicions; indeed, if kep is somebody I know, there is only one person I can imagine it being. But, no, not me!

It's like if I was playing Clue (or, to my UK readers, Cluedo) and somebody guesses that it was Professor Plum in the Billiard Room with the wrench, and I show them that I have the Professor Plum card in my hand, and they murmur, "You're not fooling anyone. I know it's Plum."

Nina said that the person who was Kep was instructed to proclaim far and wide that he was not, should the finger point his way.

Well, there's no arguing against that. So, yes, you're right, I'm kep. Kepgratulations! Also, you know the mysterious Jill that kep keeps referring to? It's actually Tonya. Finally! No more secrets! Our love is out in the open! I feel so relieved.

Hi, Jeremy. LDM posted two poems in my comments today, so I'm glad to be reminded his identity wasn't secret. I was thinking it was "Oscar." As to Kep, all I can say is that he has is exactly the same central topic as Nina: Nina.

Why are we supposed to somehow take your word for it, anyway? I went 10 rounds with you over whether or not you really lived in a winnebago or whatever.

Jeremy: I think you should have cleared it with Tonya before you went public here. Especially since kep referred to jill as "Jill the Pill."
Ann: People kept telling me that kep is obsessed with my life. I think he was obsessed with doing right by Ocean. He got into trouble anyway. One reader wrote that kep reminds him of his horribly loud and obnoxious 12-year old nephew.
Ang: Proving a negative is always fun. Getting Jeremy to prove a negative is even funner.
It will all be yesterday's story soon enough as I am (as he and I agreed earlier), letting him loose later today. I'm sure he's at Truax buying a one-way out of here. Maybe to France, since he seems obsessed with France as well.

I'm not ashamed of living in an RV, and I resent the insinuation that I've been dodgy about the matter.

Jeremy, your Kep-denials are nothing at all like the Clue example. For you do not have a picture of yourself in your hand, thus proving that Kep inside the envelope in the middle of the board game is someone entirely different. All you really have are your own denials. And, as someone who has been misproperly quoted on your blog, I think we all have good reason to doubt the truth of those.

I do not mind waiting for Nina to make her revelation, but since this came up over here, JFW readers should know to ask Jeremy if he is really, truly not Kep, if they really, truly want to know. ~jlp

style, Jeremy, style. Kep was into nuance and 4-track (6-track!); a no-brainer that it was Nina all along.
