an example of how some economists, at least when it comes to the postcolonial part of their talk titles, aren't so much about 'economy'
(from a poster for a talk yesterday that was sponsored by the Economics Department)
Granted, the same could be said of the titles that some bloggers choose for their posts.

Postcolonial?
Postcolonial: Referring to that part of a title or sentence that occurs after a colon. To be sure, the word has other meanings as well.
Hehe. Though "Postcolonic" seems it might be a justifiable variant.
I don't find this joking about colons at all amusing. I have had serious colon problems since I was a child.
Jeremy, is there nothing you can do to better police/delouse the readership of your blog? Barring that, could you yourself try to show some more sensititivity to the human intestinal condition.

Zigs, you forgot to add "You insensitive clod!" at the end there.
I sorta blacked out between "infer" and "allocation," which might make me reconsider my preference for lengthy descriptive article titles (though this one looks more lengthy than descriptive) over the short and trying-to-be-amusing.
"In the long run we are all dead." J.M. Keynes
Yes, well there's not usually much reason to advance the long run into the present.
I was amused to see that the paper in question actually contains the words, "In this paper, I use economic theory," showing that Jeremy's left-sidebar objection to the word "theory" need not be confined to sociology. By the time I got around to the "theory"'s imposition of a constraint that the agent cannot die in debt -- which had me thinking "typical Chicago economist" -- the pdf was already destined for the Trash, 90% unread.
Tom B.: Something I've always wondered: When an economist reads that a person has "died penniless", do they think this is sad like most other people do, or is their first reaction: "Cool. So optimal."
Jeremy: I offer an answer at the bottom of this post.
