memorandum from the firm of dasher, dancer, prancer, and vixen

Turns out, for a complicated set of reasons, my plans to make a return trip to the Freese Family Farm for Xmas have been abandoned, meaning that I will be here in Cambridge by myself for the holiday. I am not sure yet what I am going to do. Contrary to what you might otherwise predict, however, I assure you that I will not be spending the day swilling white wine and watching a DVD of A Charlie Brown Christmas over and over again on my monitor.

Hey, my apartment's gonna be empty. You could do the 60-degree So-Cal Christmas...hang some ornaments on the palm trees, leave a bowl of 100-proof eggnog out for Tara Reid, gather around the fireplace in short sleeves to point and laugh, work as an extra in "The Santa Clause 3" for scale and some SAG points, etc.

Well, just be warned: Cambridge and Boston are shut up tight and dark on Christmas (movies and Chinese restaurants to the contrary). So don't go it alone....

I was looking forward to swilling wine or beer with you in IA. Now I will have another reason to be depressed during the holiday season.

That really sucks, you can come to my parents' house if you don't have an aversion to german shepherds...that really stinks, I was alone last christmas and boy was that depressing. Give me a heads up and I can give you directions.

You need one of the Zoloft-filled Christmas ornaments I gave out to my family last year.
