brief post to make my apple-using friends day a little brighter
A new problem has developed with the Windows PC in my office where, if I click to watch one of the CNN.com videos, my machine immediately reboots.
Overheard today: "I hate Windows Vista. I tried installing it today and now I can't do anything on my computer at all. Microsoft is the Walmart of software."
On that note, here's a fun South-Park-ized version of the Mac vs. PC commercials:
i switched permanently to suse linux on my T42 (but i also have an old thinkpad that runs win2k for windows-only software i may need),
you should try linux, i cut down so much on time and/or money spent on antivirus, spyware blaster updating, windows updatates, and adaware scanning, linux has about 40 viruses total while there about 1,000 per month written for Microsoft
STATA also produces a version for linux, plus there is a massive library of open source software

That's a FEATURE, not a bug.
:)
Something cool about my new X60 (is yours the X61?) is that it has a built-in SD card reader. Awesome.
We Mac users rise above mere schadendfreude. Some of us, anyway. I just got a new MacBook Pro, so I am filled with computerly goodwill.
Looks like we rise above mere spellchecking, too. Schadenfreude.

T42? X61? The first one is a tank from the Korean war and the second is a code-name for an experimental jet fighter, right?
Thinkpads by IBM now Lenovo...they have something of a cult following

On the other hand. . .
We came up with a new slogan last night: Toshiba - For when neither your parents nor your job are paying for your laptop.
