resurrection bling

When my sister visited, she bought Harvard shirts for both parents, all siblings, and some other relatives, as opposed to me who has never bought anyone any Harvard anything. I did, when we were in the store, decided to buy a Harvard sweatshirt for myself, although it ended up getting mixed up with the rest of my sister's Harvard haul and thus went back to Iowa. My mother mailed it to me, and also included some Easter gifts! I've been using the boxing reindeer pen to fight various inanimate objects around my apartment. It just completely walloped my prized green-ghoul tape dispenser:

I don't know. I'm not one who is much for profanity, esp. here on my blog, but this reindeer kicks ass. It may be my favorite Easter present ever.

Why do you have a Dallas Stars hockey puck on your desk. Are you a fan?

I've had that puck since they were the Minnesota North Stars. It's invested with sentimentality, at least enough that it's come along with every move I've made since college.

I think your mom and my mom must be kindred spirits. A selection of things my mom has sent in the mail over the last year:

fighting robot pens (similar to your reindeer), a pig-slinger (to match the ninja slinger she gave us for christmas), several rubber duckies, and more....

Maybe it's just that our moms know us so well? ;-)

Wait a minute--
was your mother also hit by a hockey puck, while she was pregnant with you?!
