fetish weapon for my war on paper

My officemate has purchased one of these smallish sheet feeding scanners that is expressly designed for reading in multipage documents and making PDFs of them. The extent to which I covet this piece of equipment is almost unbearable. (Of course, he said I can use it whenever. Equally of course, I want one that is mine, all mine.)

How much do they cost? I could really use something like that for my own front in the war. (I gave up a table in a recent move to a larger office, so I'd have less horizontal surface area to clutter.)

Can you link to an example? Or have you not looked it up yet, Jeremy, due to fear that you may press the "buy" button?

A hard core model (that I covet) would cost $500, but any old scanner with a document feeder will do this (along with Acrobat Professional). I use a $100 Brother multifunction for this same task.

Sorry, I meant to say that hard core model is the Fujitsu SnapScan

Yes, the model my officemate has is the Snapscan. He's got the Mac version of it.
