(ongoing series) things i used to have disdain for but now do without remorse
I have been at conference sessions where someone read his paper word-for-word as submitted including those parethetical citations, including the citations of his gratuitous self.
Shouldn't that be "Gratuitous self-citation (Freese, 2007)."?
