From Pricing the Priceless, page 160:
"A variety of an outlier scheme is the ceding ex ante of expected high-cost patients to a common pool (van Barneveld, van Vliet, and van de Ven 1986)."

  1. For a moment I thought you were linking to Viviana Zelizer's Pricing the Priceless Child and wondered why you had left out the last word of the title. Then I read the sentence and realized that was probably not the case.
