This post is being dictated to Kathryn as we drive around Burlington, Vermont, looking for wireless (and maybe the coat factory). More later (and maybe from Maine).
Update: Not from Maine, as it turns out. We didn't make good enough time on the drive through Vermont to justify the detour, especially when I realized it would take us more out of the way than what it looked like from our poorly-printed Mapquest map.

Think, man. Once you're back in Cambridge, you can get to Maine in just an hour or so. There's even a train. And you can wear shorts there!

too bad about Maine. I'm commenting from somewhere outside Dorval, Quebec, on the super awesome train back to Toronto. (the bus from Toronto to Hamilton will be less awesome)

Anon, Tina: I skipped Maine partly in optimism that I will manage to get to Maine somehow, someway in the next year or so. I hope this proves correct.

it would be interesting to compare your pattern of 'blogged in vs. not' states to the Red/Blue presidential election map from 2004...
go to texas! hang out with my family. you will like my nephew. and they might let you sleep on the couch. don't stay with my parents, my dad will find you irritating (though my mother will love you). stay with my sister instead.
That train up to Portland is really great — enables daily commuting now. Give it a try.
Go to Maine when the fall foliage is at its peak. And I would say to skip Acadia--I find it a little too touristy.
Go to Maine when the lobster shells are hard. Aw, just go anytime. Maine is a nice place, you'll see.
Jeremy will be going to Texas soon courtesy of GSA. So we know at least one addition to the map is coming in the next few months.

I'm going to Dallas, TX. And I definitely want to go to Utah. If only I could drive from Madison to Utah, I could cross off like eight states that way, throwing down the gauntlet to the devotion of those other states-visited-tracking bloggers out there.
